Description
Uniform 1.0 µm superparamagnetic beads with a streptavidin monolayer covalently coupled to a hydrophilic surface. Featuring increased binding capacity and a lower sedimentation rate compared to standard magnetic beads, these beads are ideal for automated applications and for isolating larger amounts of biotinylated ligands — such as oligonucleotides or peptides — and their specific targets.
Particularly well-suited for processing nucleic acid samples with high concentrations of chaotropic salts, immunoassays using small biotinylated antigens, and applications incompatible with BSA. The BSA-free surface ensures broad compatibility, while the covalently coupled streptavidin monolayer minimizes leakage and guarantees batch-to-batch consistency. Each streptavidin molecule on the bead surface presents 2–3 accessible biotin binding sites after immobilization, with binding capacity influenced by molecular size, steric availability, and charge interactions.
Supplied at 10 mg/mL (~7–10 × 10⁹ beads/mL) in phosphate buffered saline (PBS), pH 7.4, with 0.01% Tween 20 and 0.1% sodium azide as a preservative. Store at 2–8°C.
